Hand Written Quotes in Hand Cut Silhouettes

I’ll be sharing some of my favorite quotes that I find most sentimental to me as a mother. I will hand write the quotes featured with some favorite silhouettes that I have hand cut. This first quote is from one of my most often read – and reread – childhood books, Winnie the Pooh. “When life throws you a rainy day, play in the puddles.” – Pooh Bear.
I studied calligraphy and enjoyed it so much right around the time when home computers were first becoming popular. Everyone said how great it was that you no longer needed to be an artist, just load the font! Luckily, I get to use calligraphy everyday when I write out names with graceful loops and fleurishe below silhouettes. But I try to keep those simple and have been holding back. Calligraphy, or “brush script” is so relaxing and I’m glad to be making a section in my shop focusing on this art form where I can really have some fun!
I chose this quote first because my husband and I are in the middle of an all too familiar waiting game. His cancer has been back… he went through some immunotherapy which was such a relief compared to chemotherapy… but it’s not all gone. He is having another biopsy soon and then consultation to follow. It’s a little rainy here, but we have our boots on!
